Abstract
Gas Injection into light oil reservoirs is capable of achieving substantial incremental Improved Oil Recovery (IOR), providing that gas is available and considerable additional investment is not required. The availability of gas, especially in areas like the North Sea, is a critical factor affecting oil recovery economics. Air meets this criteria, on the basis that the oxygen can be effectively removed in the reservoir.
