Abstract
Chemical weapons have been used as part of warfare for a long time. Over the centuries developments have taken place in this field. In the 20. century there has been a very important development: From a variety of well-known tear gases up to very different nerve agents. This century is characterised by a multitude of blister agents and agents which contain arsenic-organic compounds e. g. Adamsite, Clark I and II, etc. World War II was the first major conflict where these new warfare agents were utilized. All participants in WW II had chemical ammunition available for usage. And, these countries built plants to produce these agents. Important chemicals for chemical warfare are organic-arsenic compounds. These Ascontaining agents are Adamsite, Clark I and II and others.
