Abstract
We investigate a generalisation of classical boundary fitted structured grid generation to include additionallines - called controllines - to be honoured in the interior. See Thompson et al. [5] or Knupp [2] for reviews of boundary fitted grid generation. As far as we are aware, except for Hales [1], there is no literature conceming this generalised problem. We call the region enclosed by the boundary the domain. The problem occurs, for example, as a stage in generating grids to honour geological structures. In such applications the two sets of lines are extracted from faults and the boundary curve. We refer to the articles of Petterson [3] and Ponting [4] for background.
