Abstract
An experimental study of rock massif laboratory sand model reaction on decompression zone origin due to fluid extraction was carried out. It was found that an arch structure of density changes was formed above the decompression zone. The arch structure, which bears a load of the sand upper layer, can be destroyed by action of seismic waves. The destruction of the arch causes pressure increase in decompressed zone. The value of the pressure increase is directly proportional to the depth of decompression zone and inversely proportional to the dimension of the zone.
