Abstract

It is often desirable to quantify the errors involved in the correlation of reservoir parameters, well log information, and seismic data. A mapping and data analysis method has been developed to: (1) analyze the relationships between seismic measurements and reservoir properties such as porosity, lithology, production, and pay thickness; (2) spatially analyze patterns resulting from comparison of seismic attributes and well information, such as amplitude/velocity anomalies and porosity in oil and gas development fields; (3) provide more reliable reservoir seismic amplitude maps; (4) measure the sensitivity of seismic data to changes in reservoir parameters; and (5) associate well information with 3D seismic data for statistical analysis and other applications.
