Abstract
High sensitivity magnetometers able to measure the earth's magnetic field intensity to a resolution of 10 pT are now commonly in use in airborne magnetic surveys. In most instances the processing and levelling of these high sensitivity data has not developed to take advantage of this improvement in resolution. Consequently a fairly large noise envelope is often present.
