Abstract

A combined geophysical and geological interpretation of the Rhine Graben and vicinity in SW Germany is presented in the form of three 2-D, 250km profiles, starting from the S edge of the Rhenish shield and adjacent Lorraine and Saar-Nahe basins, crossing the Rhine Graben in three separate sections, and extending across the Mesozoic platform to the fore-alpine Molasse Basin.
