Abstract

Summary

Curvature attributes, that introduced by , have been utilized to detect and outline edges of geologic bodies. In this research, a set of different combinations of curvature attributes (TDR_Kpos, Tilt_Kpos, Kneg^2-Kpos^2) is introduced that the main goal of this technique is to delineate structural boundaries in complex geology and tectonic environment in potential field. TDR_Kpos is Maximum over the boundary of the sources but zero contours of the Tilt_Kpos and Kneg^2-Kpos^2 determine edge of the sources. Many tests have been applied on synthetic models. All of the results show that the new improved method is more effective for edge detection compared to methods of Analytic Signal, Magnitude of total Horizontal Gradient and Local phase filters.
