Abstract
The considered Yu. Korchagin field is situated within the Northern part of the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea. Three prospecting wells discovered the productivity of rocks in wide stratigraphic range from the Medium Jurassic to the Paleogene in 2000. At the present time multi-zone oil pool is being developed which is represented both by the Lower Cretaceous Neokomian terrigenous deposits and carbonate rocks of the Volgian regional stage of the Upper Jurassic. The development drilling of horizontal extended-reach wells is performed from the ice-resistant fixed platform.
Built physical and geological model of the productive reservoir of the Upper Jurassic and the Lower Cretaceous deposits made it possible to optimize the horizontal wells locations in the course of field development. So far as the development horizontal wells are drilled the drilling process is monitored based on the complex analysis of geological and geophysical data with updating of the field model.
