The question of choosing the most effective and relatively cost-low electrical geophysical methods for hydrocarbons exploration is relevant. This fact is due to a variety of observation methods in EM industry, on the other side because of seismic limitations in poor-recorded areas. To evaluate the effectiveness of electromagnetic methods with different types of transmitting and receiving systems the comparison of TEM technique (near-zone survey with inductive type of templates) and DNME technique (differential normalized method with galvanic system) are considered in the paper. Through a one-dimensional mathematical modeling of electromagnetic signals for said types of templates the sensitivity to changes in polarization parameters was estimated. The theoretical and methodological aspects of TEM and DNME methods are performed. The layers resolution by different current transmitting systems was discussed. According to results for more reliable prediction of oil and gas fields the joint application of galvanic and inductive systems was recommenced
