Abstract
This paper proposes an approach to predict the properties of the gas hydrate bearing sediment using the seismic reflectivity variation with the angle of incidence, without borehole data. The approach demonstrated high accuracy and robustness of the result when tested on the synthetic models. The technique was also tested on the real data from the Tuapse Trough of the Black Sea and the obtianed values of gas hydrate and free gas saturations fit well to the previously published results from the neighbouring areas.
