Abstract
We have presented an algorithm to combine the f-k filter and a modified parametric method to extract reflection signals from the acoustic reflection image logging data. We have also constructed a data processing flow to enhance the extracted reflection signals by dip stacking and the P-P and S-S reflections can be extracted consequently. We demonstrated the processing examples of synthetic reflection logs by finite difference modeling and the field data. The extracted S-S reflection waves have a higher signal-to-noise ratio than the P-P reflection waves. Therefore, making full use of S-S reflection waves for migration and imaging of near borehole structures may significantly improve the detecting ability of the acoustic reflection image logging.
