Abstract
The Al-Khalij Field “ALK” is located offshore Qatar. It was discovered in 1991 and put into production in 1997. The producing layers are in the Upper Mishrif. The upper part of the reservoir was partially eroded. The main flow mechanism is due to a bottom-drive water aquifer. The main objective of this project was to perform a simulation study to examine how fluid flows in fractures that is connected to an infill well. Several simulation runs were implemented in ECLIPSE. Several hypothesis are presented about fluid flow and then evidence is shown from the simulation study to support the hypothesis.
