Abstract
Summary
Seismic waveform tomography can invert for the velocity and inverse-Q variations simultaneously. In this abstract, considering the magnitude and units differences between the velocity and the inverse-Q in the simultaneous inversion, we should apply normalisation to both the velocity model and the inverse-Q model. Meanwhile, for balancing the sensitivities between the two-type parameters, we introduced a tuning factor to adjust the normalised magnitude. This tuning parameter may be determined adaptively, based on the sensitivities measured quantitatively from the gradient subvectors with respect to these two parameters. Model tests show the feasibility and reliability of the adaptive tuning factor method.
