Abstract

Summary

Marine controlled source electromagnetic (CSEM) method has been applied for hydrocarbon exploration for many years. The mesh choice is important for both CSEM modeling and inversion. The mesh choice need consider three issues: complex geometry, accuracy, and convergence CPU time. In this paper, a simple model case is employed to compare the structured and unstructured meshes. As a conclusion, the structured mesh has advantage on the accuracy, while the unstructured mesh takes lees time on convergence CPU time.
