Abstract
Summary
Dealing with 2D seismic data is usual for initial stages of E&P, under a complicated topography, where 3D seismic measurements are physically impossible, or economically not sound. In such cases gravity inverted together with seismic and well data, can contribute to refine the shape of salt and to map subsalt HC pools, reducing E&P risks and cutting drilling costs. Case study is provided for two gas fields in Transcarpathian Trough (Ukraine), where three wells were drilled within ten years after 3D model was completed, confirming model accuracy both within tight and productive areas.
