Abstract
Competitive adsorption model is the best suited model for CCS technology in coal. Coal is primary and one of the best adsorbents of CO2. Carbon dioxide storage in coal not only reduce the greenhouse gas emission in atmosphere but also enhances the coalbed methane recovery from coalbed. CAM model can use for any no of adsorbents in coal. Separation factor predicted by CAM model decreases with increased in CO2 in gas phase. Maximum separation factor was observed for 1000 psi and it can be also observed that separation factor increases with increment in the pressure. However for the sample of Moira colliery separation factor is almost constant. This can be understood by the pure component isotherm. Volume wise CO2 has 2.7 times more adsorption capacity than CH4. This paper covers the all aspects of the CAM model.
