Abstract

Summary

The Brazilian Pre-Salt polygon is a primary O&G area and represents more than 60% of the national petroleum-producing. Pre-salt reservoirs are carbonate rocks with varied depositional textures and facies, such as the Coquinas, which comprise bioclastic debris in their framework. This work exhibits an integrated analysis between petrophysics, geological (depositional texture and dominant pore type) properties, and P-wave velocity affecting the rock strength in the Coquinas of Morro do Chaves Formation. This formation is assumed as an analog of the Aptian bioclastic deposit at the Pre-salt level at Campos and Santos Basin. Results indicate that rock strength is affected by porosity, permeability, depositional texture, dominant pore type, and seismic wave propagation.
