Abstract

Summary

This paper discusses the site screening and pre-selection process adopted for the first geological storage of carbon dioxide in Russia—focusing on the methodology. Main objective of CCS projects is reducing or offsetting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by polluting industries and assessing options for the disposal of carbon dioxide (CO2) as a by-product in the areas of operation.
