Application of Pulsation Electromagnetic - Emissions (PEE) in Mapping and Monitoring of Geodynamic Phenomena
Authors V. Vybiral and P. WagnerGeodynamic phenomena frequently create engineering geological problems in the building constructions. One of the latest methods used to study and monitor the effects of this unwelcome phenomena is the "pulsed electromagnetic emissions" method. This method, aimed at assessment of slope movements and stress deformations, is based on electromagnetic emissions, produced by stress load exerted upon the rock environment. It can indicate a stress increment within a rock environment preceding the outbreak of a catastrophic event. The modification of this method, which uses drillings, is one of the best suited for the purpose to monitor the slope deformations.
