Abstract

The 30 Monte Alpi survey covers a surface area of about 200 km2 over the Monte Alpi oil accumulation in the heart of the Southern Appennine Range. Discovered in 1987/88 with the M. Alpi well, this is the largest oil discovery in Italy. The reservoir and reserves still require correct definition. The structure is made up of Mesozoic carbonates, of the Apula Interna Platform., The area, which has been extensively surveyed using 20 seismic since the 1970s, has always been characterized by a very poor seismic response.
