Many oil and gas fields are now managed by cross-disciplinary asset teams. Current team work processes may often be linear (Fig. 1). A seismic survey is acquired and interpreted by geophysicists, the surfaces are reformatted and edited in mapping packages by geologists, the surface framework and well tags are used to generate a geocellular model, which is then scaled up by a reservoir engineer for fluid flow simulation.
