Subsidence analysis is a common technique used by the oil industry for definition of the thermal maturity of<br>source rocks. Here, we performed subsidence analysis via 1D and 2D backstripping to reconstruct the geometry<br>of a foreland basin (Llanos Basin) that resulted from flexural deformation associated to the growth of an<br>orogenic belt (Eastern Cordillera). Examples from two regional cross sections illustrate this foreland basin -<br>orogenic belt coupled evolution.
