Intensified “Peak Oil” discussions impose important economical and social questions that directly affect professions in petroleum exploration and production while increases importance of expectations from them. On the other side, continuing successes of these professions are continuously modifying the data that is the base for “Peak Oil” projections. In these contexts,since “Petroleum Era” will retain its importance for a couple of generations, under the light of past developments and recent projections, elaborations are presented on importance of professions of petroleum exploration and production and expectations from them.
