Abstract

The paper contains the description and application results of a technology for integrated geophysical
investigations to provide prediction-exploration surveys for copper-nickel ores and platinum group
metals (PGM). The main elements of the technology have been developed and successfully tested during
some geophysical investigations carried out by VIRG and the Central Kola Expedition in the Monchegorsk
ore district. The investigation results confirmed the presence of a multistage magmatic system having complicated
structure in this region. The integrated interpretation resulted in localization of some targets promising
for ore mineralization, in recommendations for check drilling and estimation of copper-nickel ores and
PGM prognostic reserves. The community of physical-geological characteristics of copper-nickel ore deposits
in different regions of Russia allows this technology to be also applied to other ore provinces
