S039 3D SEISMIC ACQUISITION COVERING JAKHIRA OASIS LIBYA 1 Concession C96 with a surface area of 185 sq. km is located in the south-east of the Sirte Basin 450 kilometres south-west of Benghazi in Libya. Wintershall-Libya has a 100% interest in the concession in which two oil fields are present: As Sarah and Jakhira. As Sarah was discovered in 1989 and is a giant with over 1 billion barrels of OOIP in the Sarir reservoir (depth 12 000 feet) which consists of medium to coarse grained well-sorted sandstone deposited in the medial part of a sand dominated braided river system
