Abstract
S040 A NOVEL APPROACH TO PROCESSING VIBROSEIS/TZ SEISMIC DATA – TEAMWORK FINDS GOOD SOLUTIONS Abstract 1 A large vibroseis survey over sand dunes and coastal plain and an adjacent dynamite/airgun near-shore transition zone survey were jointly reprocessed. The surveys cover two low-relief major oil fields. Key to the processing was deterministic zero-phasing for the vibroseis data and partly-deterministic partly-adaptive zero-phasing for the impulsive data before picking first-breaks for refraction statics. This was complemented by a hybrid residual refraction statics approach and careful stacking velocity picking including non-hyperbolic move-out correction. The result is a more reliable seismic image of these oil
