Abstract

tical role in optimizing the placement of the producer well using its unique depth-of-investigation and multilayer-detection capability to map several layers, in real time, both above and below the drilled trajectory—to a distance of approximately 115 ft [35 m] TVD. The tool delineated the shape of different sand progrades. The distance-to-boundary information provided by the tool were used to update the reservoir and geological model in real time, allowing the wellbore to be geosteered with certainty while connecting different progrades and, ultimately, exceeding the client KPIs.
