Abstract
C036 Exploration Risk Reduction from Gas Field Information The Netherlands F.F.N. van Hulten* (Energie Beheer Nederland BV) SUMMARY In exploration risk analysis sealing faults and gas generation are two factors that are often hard to quantify. Almost fifty years after the discovery of the Groningen gas field exploration for gas in the Netherlands is still successful. Most exploration wells in the country are drilled to Rotliegend and Bunter sands. Contrary to the Bunter the Rotliegend prospectivity is mainly found in an extensively drilled E-W corridor called the Rotliegend Fairway characterized by many existing gas fields. Rotliegend exploration does not show
