Abstract

P171 Specular Beam Migration – Fast 3D Pre-Stack Migration in Time and Depth I. Cockshott* (GDC UK Ltd - Geophysical Development Corporation) SUMMARY Specular beam migration is a low cost alternative to Kirchhoff migration. Through a combination of selecting the most significant events in the data and having a smaller operator migrations that are measured in node-days using the Kirchhoff method are completed using the specular beam migration method in the same number of node-hours. Its speed makes it a useful tool in velocity model building. EAGE 69 th Conference & Exhibition — London UK 11 - 14 June 2007
