Abstract

Action Learning, a component of IHRDC’s widely used IPIMS e-learning system, simulates<br>on-the-job training through a series of interactive learning plans that are built around industrydefined<br>performance competencies, virtual job assignments, actual field data and realistic<br>work situations. A learner demonstrates competency in a given area by completing the<br>assignments at the level of proficiency required for his or her job. This “Learning by Doing”<br>approach combines e-Learning flexibility with the level of student-to-student and student-tomentor<br>interaction normally seen in a classroom.
