Abstract
The magnetic signal can be considered as the product of two functions combined by convolution. In that sense, any deconvolution scheme seems appropriate in separating the two parts which, for obvious reasons, can be considered as controlling the pattern and the amplitude of the signal accordingly. The amplitude function can be represented by a finite pulse directly above the centre of the body producing the signal.
