Abstract
The Cauchy problem for a system of non-strictly hyperbolic conservation laws modelling polymer flooding is discussed. A finite difference scheme for the problem is developed. A subsequence of the family of approximate solutions generated by this scheme converges towards a weak solution of the Cauchy problem.
