Keynote Address: Key Performance Indicators for Geosteering

We propose in this paper is to develop a wider common understanding of an industry standard to evaluating the value of geosteering. By having common measures of how well a geosteered well is on the field management compared to a geometric well we will ensure that the geosteering of wells are in favour of any other well placement procedures. Points to evaluate are: Maturity of field. Length of horizontal section. Geological heterogeneity. Fluid complexity.
