Abstract
The present paper proposes a new methodology for identifying and exploiting through internet various documentary sources, that may be relevant for CO2 storage sites. It describes a knowledge communication scenario resting on a software platform, which enables communication and cooperation between various internet services. Several knowledge communication issues are examined such as vocabulary extraction from texts or maps geographical area identification, semantic analysis of geological terms. The proposed solution rests on the definition of adequate domain ontologies and on semantic annotation. It has the advantage of allowing a goal-oriented and largely automated document search.
