Abstract
The hydrocarbon exploration prospective of deep strata in rift basin/depression is one of important issue studied by many petroleum geologists. Xinglonggong(XLG) area belongs to Baxian depression(a rich petroleum generation)and has several advantageous hydrocarbon accumulation conditions. Three stratigraphic petroleum trap area-models were summed up, i.e., abrupt slope, gentle slope and sag area-models. In abrupt slope area, the petroleum trap model of structure-stratigraphy-trap and that of small scale delta front sandbodies developed more profitable; meanwhile, in gentle slope area, hydrocarbon was prone to accumulate in the reservoirs of large scale delta front, onlapping strata and some sandbodies adjacent to unconformity. However, in the sag area, petroleum trap models were typical in those pinched out sandbodies. Fan delta front reservoirs and turbidity sandbodies in front of those deltas below the break areas of abrupt slope were apt to form some stratigraphic pinching out petroleum traps. Furthermore, in those areas below gentle slope, delta front reservoirs of low system tract of strata sequence, turbidity sandbodies and sheet sand bars were good to hydrocarbon accumulation.
