Abstract

Summary

The problem of ensuring technological reliability and environmental friendliness of the natural gas transportation process, basic approaches to risk assessment and management at industrial sites are considered. To improve safety of gas transportation system facilities, a comprehensive risk management system is proposed, as well as a quantitative risk assessment algorithm. The main advantage of the proposed algorithm for the analysis of quantitative risk assessment over the traditional one is that the analysis reveals “vulnerability” in the technological processes; it is further used as a controlled and regulated parameter. While traditional risk assessment techniques focus on determining the risk event, and make it possible to draw conclusions only about the facility risk.
