Abstract

Summary

Radioecological monitoring is a complex information and technical system for observation, research, evaluation and forecasting of the radiation status of the biosphere, areas near NPPs (Nuclear Power Plants) affected by radiation accidents, and potentially hazardous areas (PNT) such as radioactive waste storage facilities, radioactive waste storage facilities (threat of nuclear weapons), nuclear power plants (NPPs), nuclear fuel manufacturing and processing enterprises, nuclear reactors, nuclear power plants at transport facilities. The territory of Ukraine needs a perfect system of radio-ecological monitoring several times more than any European country. Unstable military-political situation, numerous explosions of ammunition arsenals lack of RW repositories that meet international standards. By volume of radioactive waste, Ukraine is ranked II in Europe and IV in the world (3.5 million m3). This is the main reason for the need to constantly control and monitor the state of sources of existing and potential pollution of the territories.
