Artefacts of Diffraction Imaging and their Attenuation

A formulation of the problem of the small scattering objects’ true-amplitude imaging is proposed. The model of the acquired wavefield and the algorithms for its inversion are studied. Evanescent wave processing tools to improve the imaging resolution are considered. The limitations of the Kirchhoff integral-based depth imaging are demonstrated.
