Abstract
The reinterpretation of the “old” seismic data along the line of the 900 km long geotraverse profile is represented by a seismic tomographic model. The bitmap images of the original seismic data were converted into vector diagrams by the DIGITIZER computer program. This made it possible to represent the hodographs as numerical data sets and to construct the seismic tomographic model along the geotraverse line. The velocity model is obtained by the tomographic inversion method of first arrivals of seismic waves. The deep tectonic structures are clearly outlined on the tomographic model. In particular, the Ukrainian Shield is characterized by Volyn, Podolsk, and Bug Megablocks with uplifts of variable sizes in the upper and middle crust. The Golovanivska suture zone is distinguished as uplift from the northwest to the southeast and the Kryvorizka suture zone is highlighted in the opposite direction.
