Abstract
Over the last few years several sub-basins of the Pannonian Basin have been explored with detailed seismic surveys and deep drilling (to over 5500m depth). Results of these studies indicate that potential hydrocarbon-bearing formations can be assigned to three sedimentary megasequences deposited in depocentres of different size, depth, genesis and structural style.
