Abstract
This paper discusses a computing system written in Pascal, which can be used in personal computers. This program, named GEOREC, permits the reconstruction of any previously digitalized continental block, using the algorithms necessary for obtaining finite rotations on a sphere. Among its main characteristics the following can be mentioned: 1) stereclgraphic projection of continental contours into high quality graphs on a standard screen; 2) possibilty to vary the degree of enlargement and the point of observation in the graphs, displaying geological features of any degree of importance; 3) reconstructions on the screen with the aid of cursors, and 4) possibility to obtain the spherical statistics of virtual paleomagnetic pole populations for each partial rotation by means of a linkage system.
