Abstract

The Minjur aquifer is present in a northern region of saudi arabia called Az Zabirah. This aquifer is the only source of water available. Obtained lithological well data was used into creating a subsurface stratigraphic modeling. this was done using a computer modeling program. the different diagrams and graphs produced aided in uncovering details about the aquifer. Using the produced 3D the aquifer extends with varying thickness, but seems to be thickest towards the deep end of the basin. Fence diagrams and multi-depth surface stratigraphy graphs have helped map the thickest and the thinnest parts of the aquifer. All of the fore mentioned was possible using statistical programs, which indicates the importance of computer modeling in every basic geological study.
