Sequence Stratigraphy and Stratigraphic Modelling - Application to Lithofacies Prediction, Offshore NE Bulgaria
Authors A. Simeonova, G. Gorin and W. LeuThe Black Sea Deep Basin is of extensional origin and has evolved quite differently from the surrounding thrust belts. The Late Mesozoic-Tertiary deformations within the folded domains have affected anly the marginal areas of the basin. Thus the stratigraphic record onshore and in the area of the present-day shelf is of very limited use for predicting lithostratigraphic patterns in the deep basin. Recent studies on the geological evolution of the Western Black Sea Basin are largely regional and the detailed depositional history of the present-day outer shelf, slope and basin floor is poorly constrained.

Stratigraphy and Oil Content of Middle Famennian Evaporite Deposits of the Pripyat Trough
Authors S. Kruchek, E. Vysotsky and S. ObrovetsEvaporite deposits form the major part of the Devonian sequence in the Pripyat Trough, which is a member of the Pripyat-Dnieper aulacogen in the East European Platform west.

Top Chalk in the Eastern Danish North Sea
By M. HuuseA detailed time structure map of the Top Chalk Group in the eastern part of the Danish North Sea Sector is presented. Mapping is based on 5800 km of high resolution seismic data and most of the released conventional seismic data from the area.

The Sand Bodies Pattern and Gas Traps Formation in Pliocene Deposits, Albania
Authors R. Koçi and A. MesonjesiThe Pliocene deposits extend mainly in the Periadriatic Depression and in the western part of External Albanides. The Divjaka-Ballaj gas field which is discovered in this deposits is located about 6 km. in the west of Lushnja, near the Adriatic Sea. It consists of some sandstone gas reservoirs at a depth of 1000 m. to 2000 m.

Identification of Lithofacies From Well Logs in a Lithologically Complex Formation
Authors Y. Zang and H. A. SalischLithofacies is a geological definition within a formation which can be based on core descriptions in the cored intervals of boreholes.

Reservoir Evaluation of the BMB Oil Field
Authors M. Dziadkiewicz and K. JankowskiBMB oil field has been discovered in 1991. lt is located in north-pest part of Poland. The BMB reservoir is a Stassfurt age reef on an anhydrite platform. The reservoir rock is fonncd asdolamite, and the reservoir fluids are oil and sour gas containing 9% of H2S.

The Scope for Horizontal Infill Drilling between Vertical Wells in Oil Rim Reservoirs
Authors D. E. Van Bourgonje and K. J. WeberProducing oil rim reservoirs with vertical wells will always leave significant lenses of remaining movable oil as a result of cusping and coning. Sidetracking of existing wells into these oil lenses appears attractive if the recoverable reserves are sufficiently large.

Mobile Oil in Mature Layered Oil Reservoirs with Low Kv and Large Contrast between Layer Permeabilities
Authors J. Buter and H. DronkertMany mature fields have reservoirs which partly consist of layered systems. Layered systems with little cross-flow between adjacent beds often display marked differences in sweep efficiency for the individual beds.

Evaluation of the Economic Potential of Horizontal Sidetracks into Fault Related Attic Oil Configurations
Authors A. Verweij and K. J. WeberOil fields bounded or intersected by faults will always show gaps between the faults and the nearest wells (Martins, E.J. et al, 1993). One reason is the difficulty of determining the exact position of faults.

Stratigraphic Trapping Potential in Labyrinth Type Fluvial Reservoirs
Authors O. Kuyucu and H. DronkertFluviatile reservoirs of the distributary channel type are notorious for their heterogeneity and anisotropy. If the net/gross ratio is small the reservoirs show numerous local discontinuaties both vertically and horizontally.

Types of Hydrocarbon Traps within Sedimentary Cover of the Caspian Sea - Seismic Data Review
Authors Y. P. Malovitsky, B. V. Senin and O. G. TveitenSeismic exploration of the sedimentary cover in the Caspian Sea has been taking place for than 50 years. During that period more than 300 local highs and other traps have been identified here. Some 180 of them are located in the Southern Caspian, the rest are equally distributed in the Middle and North Caspian.
