Arreglos De Geofonos En Sismica 3D, Caso Testigo
Authors German Ocampo, José Luis Capuano and PacItico R. ConcettiWhch is the difference in the quality of the 3D seismic data when they are acquired with 6 geophones per string instead of 12 geophones per string? The above question and others, as a consequence of the same one, had to be answered to decide the recording of the survey, we didn’t get technical information avalable neither we didn’t find previous experience about this topic. The case study here is related with a 3D seismic survey in Lago Pellegrini block, Neuquina basin, Argentina. Due that the operator need new informaton, but no seismic group in Argentina were available to carry out the survey on time, they decided to choose a geophysical operator with base in Argentina to arrange a new group, importing a recording system with 6000 channels but they couldn’t get the enough geophone strings to complete this capacity. Up to day the other 3D surveys in Argentina were recorded with 12 or 18 geophone per receiver stations and it was considered as a rule. In this presentation we are writing our previous arguing to justify the decision to carry out the survey employing 6 geophone strings per receiver stations, and then we are explaining the different tests performed during the survey to measure the differences between acquiring seismic data with 6 or 12 geophones per flag.

Subsalt Imaging: The Raz - Waz Experience in the Gulf of Mexico
As with many advancements in technology, RAZ-WAZ developed in the Gulf of Mexico with the objective of addressing the challenge of imaging subsalt. However, as with many previous technologies in the seismic arena, such as Depth Imaging, it is now being seen as a tool that has worldwide application in similar or other geological setting across the world. Hence in this paper we look at the development of WAZ technology in recent years in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as recent advancements in respect to operation efficiency, such as Coil shooting, that may also grow in importance in seismic exploration worldwide in the near future.

Ramos Profundo: Nuevas Tecnicas De Adquisicion Y Procesamiento Sismico En El Desarrollo De Un Modelo Geologico Prospectivo. Salta, Argentina.
More LessThe Ramos gas field is located in the northwest of Argentina, in a NNE-SSW anticlinal trend in the southernmost part of the Subandean Thrust Belt. The field produces from naturally fractured Devonian reservoirs from the upper thrust sheet, which was formed
during the Andean Orogeny. There have been many efforts to improve the knowledge of the structure; most were focused on development optimization relegating the exploratory activities. As a consequence of the poor quality of the seismic data, due to the structural complexity, the use of the seismic method for geological model delineation has been discouraged down through the years. As a result all the models were mainly generated using surface geology and well information. The actual need for reserves encouraged a new attempt to obtain valuable information from seismic data. The activities consisted in the acquisition of a test line and the reprocessing of existing 2D seismic lines, both in time and depth. The improvement in data quality, achieved by reprocessing the seismic with new techniques and the new line acquired, allowed the seismic method to be used as an exploratory tool for the Ramos anticline. New and more robust models were generated with the new data and this resulted in the proposal of an exploratory well with targets deeper than the actual producing zones.
