Investigation of crack reservoirs of East Siberia by multiwave VSP
Authors V.M. Kuznetsov, G.A. Shekhtman, A.S. Efimov and E.P. KoschukOn evidence, derived from the most of litologists, engaged in reservoirs of East Siberia, the type of the reservoir, inherent in particular for fields of Jurubcheno-Tokhomsky zone (JTZ), is porous-cavernous-fractured. In this case, properties of filtration and capacitance of the geologic section is a subject to lateral variation fairly sharply. Such a complex structure calls for development of special criteria of search and prospecting of reservoir and constructing special technique, based on these criteria. It is known, that fracturing leads to anisotropy of geological parameters, which in its turn results in an anisotropy of elastic parameters. These parameters may be evaluated by means of measuring of parameters of waves of different types in different directions. In the report results of the VSP works in one of boreholes of JTZ are presented, which were run by special technique. They allowed to emerge fractured zones in carbonate section of proterozoic deposits and to estimate the parameters of fracturing.

Invaded Zone Characteristics through Logging and Invasion Modeling
Authors I.N. Yeltsov, A.A. Kashevarov and M.I. EpovThe paper presents a current view of invasion and distribution of the electromagnetic field in a
reservoir, the processes reflecting properties of the same target - an invaded zone. Actually, as a
borehole is drilled, mud filtrate invades the formation and displaces oil and formation water
from the borehole. An invaded zone is formed in which the distribution of properties is defined
by hydrodynamics laws of fluids in porous media. Both the invaded zone and undisturbed formation
affect electromagnetic logging tools. As a result of log interpretation, the spatial resistivity
distribution is obtained. The same distribution can be obtained from results of invasion modeling,
as an example, by the generalized Archie formula.

Possibilities of Seismic Method by Hydrocarbon Resources and Reserves Estimation on the Arctic Shelf Local Objects.
More LessAt the shelf exploration the seismic methods are very important at all of exploration stages: from
eliciting of big crust elements and local patterns till detailed analysis of reservoirs. It is linked to very high
cost of off-shore drilling and necessity of careful choice of dots of wells locations. Moreover, even some
process absolutisation of seismic method is scheduled and for many geologists and management people
recently the illusion was constructed that the seismic survey can almost everything, in particular in 3Dmodification.
And as if the models of the reservoirs obtained on seismic given, with allocation of filteringcapacity
properties in the media are rather exact and are close to true. In this connection it is necessary to
remind establishing principles, which one underlie a seismic method, and, outgoing from this, once again to
be fixed on a place of seismic method in the exploration process.

Integrated processing and interpretation of multilevel geophysical observations
Authors A.A. Nikitin and A.N. LebedevPresent paper contains new techniques of integrated processing and interpretation for multilevel
geophysical data which are registered at different level of observations (space, air, ground) and are usually
interpreted separatly for each level. These techniques include: detection of telescope effect which consists
in coincidence of geophysical signals (anomalies) at all levels; correlational sounding of potential fields for
depth and form contact surfaces estimation; compensate wiener filter for separation of anomaly effects
creating mutual influence of fields which are measured at different levels; depth estimation of contact
surfaces as convolution summing for various geophysical fields measured at different levels of observations.

Adaptation of focusing transformation to 2D multifold seismic data
Authors M.Yu. Smirnov, V.A. Tcheverda and V.A. PozdnyakovFocusing transformation of wavefields appears to be a powerful tool for structurally complex
environment study. Under severe seismogeological conditions application of focusing
transformation considerably increases quality and lateral resolution of seismic sections. The main
difficulty of this application lies in the selection of focusing system parameters (optimal number of
sources and receivers, distances between offset midpoints, etc.) necessary to image a specific
geologic event.
A method aimed at fitting parameters of the focusing system applied to real 2D multifold data
obtained in Western Siberia is presented in this paper supported with the examples of focusing
transformation application to real data.

Modeling of acoustic logging data for well cementing evaluation
Authors V.P. Stenin, A.A. Cherednichenko, V.Ph. Chkuaseli and A.A. ShevchenkoOne of the most important methods for well cementing evaluation is acoustic logging. Wave field formed
during measurements contains the comprehensive information regarding casing, formation and cement bond.
However, the interpretation of acoustic logging data is often ambiguous. Modeling of wave fields on the
basis of computer programs can increase the efficiency of well cementing evaluation methods.
We present a procedure and the results of acoustic and elastic field modeling based on the computer
program developed for the solution of two-dimensional wave equation in the heterogeneous medium
(borehole fluid, casing, cement, and formation) by finite difference method. The comparison of model results
and acoustic logging data for the different cements and probing signals leads us to the conclusion that the
proposed method could be an effective tool for the increase of the effectiveness of acoustic logging data
interpretation.

Monitoring of the lithosphere strained state and the earthquakes hazard estimation
More LessFor prediction of earthquakes in classic variant, it is necessary a determination of time, place and
intensity (energy) of future event that now is likely more an art and not a technology. An overcome of this
difficulty is probable on a base of a new approach for prediction of seismicity on a certain territory. In this
variant it is required only a determination of only two parameters - time and intensity of expected event. The
indicated new approach is elaborated during 7 years as example of controllable territory of Caucasus Mineral
Waters on the Northern Caucasus.
The description of the usage of seismic equipment of “Delta-GEON” type, its arrangement and
organization of data acquisition is given. At processing by the special programs as a precursor the “image of
a strained state” is used, and its changes registers up to depths of 80 km, where there take place up to 90% of
earthquakes.

The lithosphere structure and newest geodynamic for seismic hazard estimation in the Caspian – Black Sea region
Authors L.E. Levin and L.N. SolodilovPrediction of seismicity is one of the elements of ecology hazard warning. For the Caspian - Black Sea region,
such prediction is an extremely important problem in connection with distribution of earthquakes on the most part of its
area. For elaboration of a procedure of the prediction it takes into account that 90% of earthquake hypocentres and
released energy of seismic waves is associated with the elastic-brittle layer of the lithosphere.

Authors A.A. Mukhamedyanov, G.Z. Valeev and N.N. PerminovaIn this paper we shows the method of the seismic facieses analysis by poststack seismic
attributes. There are used neural networks (Kohonnen’s SOFM) for distinguish of seismic
facieses in area version of 2D seismic data. The methods are based on the analysis of digital
map of seismic attributes in their representation by matrices. The usage of a representation by
matrices of map the seismic data attributes 2D gives the wide possibilities of well-known
methods of mathematical statistics apply. From technological schedule the data representation
like a three-dimensional matrices allows to use the popular DBMS and electronic tables for
initial data preparation and analysis of outcomes.

Metodology of the mapping of buried basement structure by gravy- and magnetometric data (East-European craton)
Authors P.S. Babaiants, Yu.I. Blokh, W.A. Busch, I.B. Filippova and A.A. TrusovThe methodology of joint computer interpretation gravity, magnetic and geological data for mapping
of crystal basement is presented. The methods of basement surface altimetry map creation with seismic, drilling,
gravity and magnetic data; calculation of effective density and magnetization of rocks with allowance
for their burial depths; allocation of stable clusters of effective parameters are described. Their internal structure
is decrypted on local frames of the created petrophysical models. Lateral and vertical relationships between
clusters are established on cross-sections of effective susceptibility. The correlation of created petrophysical
models with geological data allows to map of the basement rock-structural complexes with their
inner tectonic- and stratificational structure, facies of metamorphism, geodynamic conditions of formation
and relative age.
The maps of the basement rock-structural complexes with scales 1:200 000 - 1:2 500 000, for the
first time are demonstrated the crystal basement of Moscow basin structure adequately to modern performances
of a Pre-Cambrian geology in the naked regions.
